I finished her face and put her back together. Now that her hair is back I realize that I like her blond. The hair on this girl is nice and thick, not so with the other blond. So I will save the re-root for the next doll. I purchased extra scalps, so no one will have to be bald while waiting for a new hairdo.
Her makeup is nice and subtle which is what I wanted.
This picture are the custom blue chips.
Custom purple chips. I do love these custom chips, I bought them off of an
Etsy seller. I will order more.
Original brown chip.
Original green chip. I also played with the spring which opens and closes her eyes, so that she could have a little more lid showing. That way I could give her some nice new eyelashes.
Here she is before and after. Both cute, but I really liked making her my own. Now to work on some new clothes. And on to the next doll, or teddy, (I just purchased a new pattern from
Vivianne Galli) or crochet, always something going on.
So cute Joanne, it sounds like you are enjoying exploring dolls..you never know you may be able to use new skills with the bears.

I am having so much fun playing with the dolls. I actually started my crafting career many years ago as a doll maker. I made Santa Clauses. I started adding little teddies to them and people wanted the teddies, well you know the rest.
ReplyDeleteI love the plainer look, she is lovely.
ReplyDeleteShe looks fab, although I was giggling at the idea of buying extra scalps!
ReplyDeleteShe's amazing, Joanne!
ReplyDeleteOkay, now you have mastered the eyechips ... lets see you take on the face over and re-root!!
ReplyDeleteI know you have the courage.
I have four Blythes Joanne and I love them to bits. I haven't taken the plunge into customising but I'm looking forward to attending a workshop tomorrow!
Hi Blythe Ghost, masrtering eye chips? I think not, they were a horror. If you go back one post you will see her wip. I did work on her face, hair will come. Bravery takes time.
ReplyDeleteOoops! Sorry Joanne I didn't read all the previous post. You may not think your brave, but I sure as hell do! I would never have attempted to work on my girls without some personal instruction (I think cost of the Blythes may have a bearing on that though).
ReplyDeleteThanks for becoming one of my Blythe Buddies.
Joanne! I love the matt face u have given her! Looks so much better than the orginal one! It looks like she has gone for an expensive facial! =)
