Usually we see this from the bottom.
I learned that the rocks are red because there is iron in the soil. And at a time when this area was covered with ocean it rusted.
I also learned that Walt Disney used to have a home here, and that this is Thunder Mountain. The mountain he designed the ride from.
Here we are looking a bit dusty and disheveled.
He is David and the jeep. We had the back seat. It really was a great way to see Sedona.
That looks like a wonderful place. It must of been different to see that way then just at the bottom. It is aways interesting to learn about different places. Thanks for the pictures and I learned something new today!

ReplyDeleteHi Joanne,
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely photos! And it looks like you all had a great ride too. Thanks for posting these and educating me about the origins and Disney's roller coaster. How fun is that!

Awww. the place is beautiful! It would be a fun ride on that pink jeep! I have never sat on a Jeep before! How nice, I hope to visit there one day. Thanks for sharing =)
ReplyDeleteSedona is my all time favorite place in AZ, too! My hubby and I try to get up there as often as possible. I have yet to take a pink jeep tour, but have always thought about it. I just don't like leaving the driving to someone else, as I only trust my own driving! Your tidbit about the ride at Disney is one I knew about, too, and it happens to be my all time favorite ride at DisneyLand. It looks like you had a grand time, and that's the whole point....right? Thanks for sharing it with us.

Thanks for sharing your pics of Sedona. Have visited just once with some special friends who live in LA. A most fascinating place would love to visit again with a little more time to look around.
